Reviews
Packaging was just okay.
I read in other reviews that the packaging was aming, but actually, Id say it was pretty much like every other assemble/yourself furniture out there. The labels for the hardware were just thrown together into the bags with them, with multiple types of pieces in a single bag, making it hard to find the proper nut, bolt, screw, etc. I never found the screws supposedly included with the slats. The instructions consist of diagrams and no descriptive text so several times I realized I had screwed a left/side piece onto the right or vice versa and hard to disassemble, much to No. 5s dismay. I think it took about 5 hours altogether. Once assembled the bed is a bit wobbly but I believe suitable for children or small adults. I used it for my wifes family, who are 5 1 or less. Its a nice design though.
Great Deal
This bed is great! Very sturdy and looks fantastic. It took my husband and I three hours to put it together with no problems. Love the color and it was very comfortable
Best full over full we could find, not disappointed
Packaging, Delivery and First Impressions The bunk bed came in 3 separate (heavy) packages. From the outside, it looked to have been packaged well for transport. Ours had a few dings and scrapes on the box but allowed the delivery anyway as the reviews had stated that the packaging was good inside and we werent disappointed, Styrofoam galore! The boxes were heavy (go figure!) so itll be best if you have help. Assembly Assembling can be done by one person (it took me about 2 1/2 hours) but Id highly recommend another pair of hands. The first hour or so was spent laying out the parts and screws in order and visualizing the instructions in my head before starting. Id highly recommend you study the first three pages of the instructions before you begin, they all look the same at the start but they actually show slightly different information. For example, the first page shows the overall construction. The second shows which posts are the header/footer combinations. The third starts the detailed steps. A few random assembly thoughts/hints: 1. You WILL NEED power tools for this regardless of what anyone or the instructions tell you. Some of the screws are almost 4 inches long and theres no way youre manually cranking the provided wrench for the whole bed. Youll need two types if bits, allen and phillips. 2. The bottom headboard and footboard combo is the same in terms of assembly. 3. The top headboard and footboard combo is different so be careful which parts you use. You will also need to visualize which side will be the inside and the outside while putting them together. 4. The three support beams (1 for the bottom and 2 for the top) are installed curved side facing down. It took me a bit to figure this out as the instruction wasnt clear on this. Youll think its common sense once youve put it all together but this part was confusing during the actual assembly. 5. The metal brackets that hold the middle support beams are drilled directly into the headboard and footboard frames. There are no pre/slotted or pre/holed guides to help on this one. Just line up the bottom part of the metal bracket with the lower/end of the lower horizontal beam and just screw directly into the wood. 6. As with any particle wood furniture, youll need to let up on the power drill when the screws get close to being all the way in. I totally forgot and the first screw is now imbeded very firmly inside the headboard. Overall thoughts This bed was definitely (borrowing another reviewers phrase for this product) the best bang for the buck full over full bed on the market. online anyway. The outer frame is your typical particle wood furniture and as with other slat beds, the slats are of the real 2x4 variety. What was surprising (and reassuring) was that the side beams that hold these slats and the middle support beams were also solid wood. The instructions were a bit simplified but adequate. As for any wobbling, it wobbles just as much as any other non/solid/wood bunk bed Ive seen in my life, no/more no/less. The kids are enjoying it and my and wife I are happy we made the purchase. We would recommend to any budget/minded family. It arrived on time
Nice and sturdy! Needs clearer instructions
The directions werent all that clear, however my husband and I was able to put it together in a couple hours. Its much sturdier than I expected. Excellent buy for the I was so excited to use it
looks great!
this bed was easy to put together and looks aming! 2 screws were missing, but overall this bed was all that we hoped for. Its a good product
GREAT quality for the money. Best bang for your buck!
I bought these beds for my boys who are 6 and 10. They had a junior set before and my oldest was just too big for the old beds. The bed components were packaged very well to prevent damage. The quality of the wood is very impressive. I am especially impressed with the slats. They are really nice! The instructions were relatively easy to follow and all of the hardware was nicely labeled. The assembly took approximately three hours with two engineers working nonstop on the project. it would have taken about two hours if we had not experienced complaint 1 (see below). Overall I think these beds are GREAT. For the price I honestly dont think you could get a better set of beds. I have two complaints which is the reason for the 4 star rating. 1 / They shipped us two bottom footboards instead of one top and one bottom. This isnt a huge deal because the only major differences are the hole pattern in the two pieces and the height. The foot board height is not a problem and actually provides a little more protection on the top bunk. We opted to just drill holes ourself and hope that we did not mess anything up in doing so. This added about an hour to the assembly process. Our boys were so excited and we wanted to get the beds assembled since we had everything unpacked and laid out in their room. 2 / One of the headboards had a huge split in the wood that had been glued and stained. I am a Quality Assurance professional so it bothered me that they would let that kind of cosmetic defect go to a customer. It looks ugly but because of the location no one can see it once the mattress is installed. Again, we were very motivated to just work with what we had because of the mess associated with the assembly and the two boys anxiously waiting on the beds. It is ok for the use.
Mission Bunkbed with Slat/Kits / Full over Full
Good quality, especially for the price. Delivered in a timely manner and would certainly recommend it. Took approx. 2 1/2 hours to assemble, however it was totally worth it. Would definitely recommend this!!
much better than we expected
We bought this bunk bed a few weeks ago and we are still talking about how much we love it! We were considering building our own bunk beds as a way to save some money. Then we saw this bunk bed and the incredible price and free shipping. We knew building our own would be a little cheaper but would not look nearly as nice. We were a little concerned that because of the low price that the quality would be very poor. To our delight the quality is great! They look very nice and are very sturdy and secure! I feel completely comfortable letting my kids sleep in these beds as well as myself climbing up top to tuck my kids in. First of all it arrived earlier than expected. Second, the packaging was incredible! We were amed at how well protected it was. So we began putting it together. As I saw in an earlier review the instructions are not extensive, there actually arent any words on the instructions, just diagrams. However, we were able to follow them just fine and had no trouble putting it together. It took my husband and I (along with some help from our 4 and 6 years old boys which probably slowed us down) 3 hours and 15 minutes to put together. And that was with one quick correction we had to make. We didnt pay attention to the holes in one of the lower bunk side beams that are for the ladder, so we had to remove the 2 lower side beams and switch them. Overall we are extremely happy with our purchase! We still keep going in our kids bedroom to look at them! This is one of the best purchases we have ever made.
Great beds
This is an excellent product. Shipping was free and fast via UPS. The packaging was some of the best Ive seen in all my years of buying flat/packed furniture by mail. Putting the bed together took 2 of us a couple of hours. It only took THAT long because I did a thorough parts check and followed the instructions to the letter. All in all, a great purchase! I would definitely recommend this bed. Went together easily
