I got two and stacked and it makes a pretty cabinet. It feels very sturdy. I took the advice from other reviews to use wood glue with the pegs to add some extra sturdiness. My husband put them together quickly. A power drill makes it go faster with the number of small screws on the back. But can be done by hand. I am going to add some felt pads to the bottom before filling it completely to make it easier to move on the hardwood.
I bought this to have a place to put some of my lesser/used small kitchen appliances now that my kids are leaving the nest. Having little cabinet space in the kitchen and tired of them always on the counter. The two stacked does add a lot of space BUT it is a little more shallow when you consider the tracks for the doors to slide. The 12 inches is the exterior dimensions of the cabinet so many things have to side in there sideways and the doors wont close if I try to put my crockpot in there. Overall I am happy with the purchase. It is a good quality for a great price, even buying two. I just will have to rearrange what I planned to put in it.
One note when you open the box there is a glue odor from them. I recommend washing the pieces down before assembling to help with it but it will just have to off gas for a week or so. It isnt bad if you wash it down before assembly but if you are extreamly sensitive to smells you will probably still smell it and want to open a window the first couple days. I smell it, my husband does not. works great.
