    Absurd center support design.

The center support beam is attached to the base board with a thin sheet of cardboard/paper, it is honestly the most absurd design I have ever seen. The center beam almost immediately sheered off and fell along with two of the wooden slats breaking in half within hours of my teenage son just sitting on the end of the bed. Returning this was not an option for me. I went out and purchased some solid 2x4 wood to replace the slats and used left over wood blocks to try and repair the center beam.. again the center beam sheered off from the baseboard. The solution was to dismantle the center beam, remove end plate designs, cut away and remove remnants of that absurd cardboard they use on baseboard, I held a .5in thick plywood block to the interior and exterior of baseboard while using longer wood screws to secure center beam through both. Instead of using wood slats / 2x4 as the width support beams, I purchased and had two sheets of 1 inch plywood cut ( totaling a support sheet of 54.5 is the perfect width of the base and the length was 74.5 but in retrospect I would only cut the length to total 74in) *Double check your measuring and allow for metal clasps at the end of resting shelf your wood slats were on. ( Ill try to edit and come back to upload photos ) I gave this bed one star for the aesthetic, the Espresso is a good looking bed. Horrible support design, I would not recommend this bed frame.
