I have tried so many different mattresses over the years seeking a good night sleep as I have had 2 back surgeries and now have issues with my hips. You know – does it hurt when you wake up? LOL
The 8- inch full memory foam mattress is delivered compressed so the box is not too large but can be conveniently transported and opened for self-use or stored and wrapped as a gift. Upon removal from the box the foam mattress is in a plastic bag and then wrapped in a thick plastic. You just remove the plastic and allow it to expand for approximately 24 hours and it is suggested to do so away from your bed to remove new odors from the foam mattress and packaging. I have a ceiling fan above my bed, so I just let it expand on the bed - no odors. Within 3 ½ hours the foam mattress was almost completely expanded.
I chose not to remove my pillow top mattress with a box spring but to just add the 8- inch full memory foam mattress as a mattress topper along with a padded mattress cover to keep it clean. It is a semi-firm mattress but provides just enough cushion to conform to your body shape which in turns provides pressure relief. I have slept on it for 3 nights and have experienced no hip or back pain when awakening. Finally, a mattress that improves my quality of life!
