This bed looks great and is just what we wanted. However, we added plywood to the top of the slats because we read that its necessary to properly support a good mattress. We also found it easy to use just the top set of screw holes to secure the headboard so we could adjust the headboard higher to accommodate a thicker mattress and the headboard. The drawers hold a lot and at first I didnt like the way they are on rollers rather than in tracks, but now I think its a plus because if you gave a nightstand you can move the drawer out at an angle and perhaps still get into it. The grey color is more of a blue hue than a charcoal which was fine since I didnt mind using a comforter with blues in it, but if color is important to you you might want to be sure you see the headboard color before you buy your bedding.
