I was worried because the title said walnut, but the pictures looked lighter. Its real wood. The color is like oak not blonde, but not too orange either, similar to my floors (I tried to show the floors in the picture for reference. Also showed the light switch for height reference.) There are no screw holes unlike similar chairs in this style. It came mostly assembled, just had to screw the seat into the stand. This is a firm chair, personally I like that, but my partner said it could be more comfortable.
