I really really wanted to give this bed 5 stars/its exceptionally well thought out, durable, stable, and a great value for the money.
BUT/the instructions are horrible, and the pictures not much better.
Do not tighten down any bolts until youre sure that youre not going to have to take something apart and rebuild it again. Because the instructions are that bad, youve got a 50 chance of getting it wrong and/or backwards.
Theres gems in the instructions like this: For better look, welding spots are oriented towards inside of the bed.
First of all, there are welding spots on both sides of the pieces/so which welding spots do they mean.
Second, if you guessed the wrong side the bed will not go together. But you wont know that until 5 steps down the road. So its not just a matter of For better look.
The other reason not to tighten down bolts until youre nearly finished is that the bed will be more stable that way, and you decrease your chances of stripping a bolt. Thats a general rule for all RTA furniture. I would know, I sold RTA for over 10 years. Too bad the instructions didnt deem it necessary to mention that.
You gotta wonder how many returns, bad ratings and dissatisfied customers they get just because they refuse to invest in decent instructions. For example, theres plenty of reviews that state the holes are not drilled in the right place.are the holes really misaligned, or was the bed put together ass backward.
I had the luxury of plenty of time and a large area to work in. After rebuilding several tasks a couple times, it took me about 6 hours. If I were time constrained, I very well may of got frustrated with it enough to return it.
Take your time. Its a nice bed if you have patience.
Very good value
