My kids love this bed. It was fairly simple to put together, by myself. Took about three hours, but would be faster with two people. The box is VERY heavy, so I just brought the pieces in a few at a time.
Two things: be sure to look at both the images for each instructions step, and also the image of the finished product, to make sure youre not putting pieces on upside down. I did that twice and didnt notice until the next step, but it wasnt a major ordeal. Also, I used foam rug/grip tape on the bottom bunk, between the reinforcement bar and the cross/slats, so that it wouldnt clink every time someone moved on the mattress; it works like a charm.
It is true that the bottom bunk is slightly smaller than a full/size mattress. I rolled up an old comforter to fill the space until we can get something more permanent.
Exactly what we needed!
