Great idea. Easy to assemble. Not the sturdiest. Also: a selection of ideas from other reviews.

My lovely wife and I had the entire thing assembled and in place in 55 minutes. Only one bolt head stripped when tightening. Fairly ingenious assembly method, but maybe not as sturdy as other beds. We used a foam mattress for the top to keep the weight down (Sleep Master 6/Inch Smooth Top Therapeutic Memory Foam Mattress, Twin) Kiddies LOVE it. A synopsis of other tips from other reviews: Put tennis balls on the bottom of the ladder uprights. Otherwise theyre so small in diameter, they may mar floors or tear carpet. Buy foam pipe insulation from HD or Lwes, or any hardware store. I think its 1/2 or 3/4 diameter. Otherwise the small diameter of the ladder rungs may bother the soles of your feet. Do not pull the bottom of the ladder very far from the floor once the bolts are tight. The ladder is narrow. The foam mattress is lower than the upper side rail, where some other mattresses might not be. Its not very heavy to move, but its not very rigid, so either have 2 people to lift and move or start close to where you want to end up. We used plastic board sheets (like for signs) under the foam mattress. Three sheets of 24x36 keeps the foam from sinking into the upper support bars.
