Did lots of research, best we found to balance price and quality. This is quality, solid pine, steel beam under slats of each bed for support, rounded edges on the wood gives higher end look, quality ladder, smart dimensions very comfortable and lots of room for storage under the bed (laundry baskets fit perfect). When you try to shake this bed it doesnt move (the $400 ones we saw in stores wobbled a lot). Husband assembled in one hour with no help. If we get new mattresses we will get slim one for on top just for piece of mind, but regular (not pillow top) bedon top is fine to prevent rolling off. My kids find it fun and cozy to sleep in.
