Simple to put together. I put it together, by myself, in under two hours. That included putting on a mattress and making the bed. Seems sturdy. I purchased this for a guest room. The only thing I would have liked is written instructions to go along with the pictures. I had to re-adjust things a couple times because instructions weren't totally clear.
