The color of the cabinet is blackish-blue in lamp light.
I am very pleased with this pretty cabinet. Just a few things for future buyers to note: 1. The color of the cabinet is blackish-blue (almost like the color of a ravens feathers) in standard lamp light. In direct sunlight or with a camera flashbulb, you can see the blue (note the picture differences with a flash and without). But it looks mostly black when lit by a lamp, which is not a problem for me because I actually like that color. Carefully consider the ambient lighting of your proposed location when deciding to buy or you might be disappointed with the color. 2. Have a power drill charged and on standby when you build this because there were a few issues. On the right door hinge, the holes were drilled out of alignment; and on the left door hinge support, the piece was glued backwards, so new holes had to be drilled on both. Luckily, my cabinet builder friend (who loves assembling this stuff) was able to drill new holes for everything and take care of both problems. If you have a handy friend who can build this for you, ask them for help if you are tool-challenged like me. 3. And lastly, you can drill new holes for the interior shelf and install it in a different location, which is what my friend did on the attached picture so the fake fireplace insert would fit: just wanted to give everyone a heads up on why my interior shelf does not look like the manufacturers picture. So the building issues aside, overall, I am very, very happy with this good-looking, finished cabinet. It turned out much better than expected.
