I liked the fact the base rungs the mattress sits on was not wood so I assumed it would be sturdier than past beds ordered and would hold more weight without giving out. The rungs are held in place with rubber plugs and is extremely sturdy, quiet and looks great when together. The rungs hook into place initially to grab before securing with plugs. It wasnt obvious at first but once we got going it was a piece of cake to finish.
