I bought this bed with the stairs for my kids 5th birthday after she complained our new townhome was too tiny. It opened up enough floor space in her room for the 3 of us to sit on the floor and all play together! She has a small stand and a tv underneath with a beanbag, along with a shelf to hold her books and movies. My husband is 5 5 and can sit comfortably underneath the bed. Its also sturdy enough for either of us to lay in bed and read books to her at bedtime. It took my husband approximately 8 hours to put together and it did take him a while to figure out the directions. Overall, a great purchase!
