I am very appreciative of the previous reviews and went in to this purchase not necessarily expecting a black item with brushed aluminum knob (as advertised) and knowing Id be just as / or more / happy with something with a brown hue. The color I received is NOT BLACK; its more of an espresso/mahogany color. (It happens to match other items in the room, so OK with me.) Also, the knobs were ANTIQUE BRASS colored, and not very attractive.
That said, it was quick and easy to assemble, and my pieces came in good shape. (The bottom tier looks less finished but with anything on it, you cant notice.) The drawer isnt very functional. I purchased a knob at Lowes that is perfect for 3. It looks REALLY good and like a MUCH more expensive item!
I dont think you can beat this price, and my advice would be to give it a shotif the item is not as described, then you wont have to pay shipping charges back if it doesnt work for you. Its a really nice piece, and I should also add that it seems VERY hard to find this height! (I was looking for something to match a bedroom end table and have been searching online and in furniture stores for awhile!) In this case, not as advertised worked well for me, but please be aware as a buyer that it seems a gamble with this purchase.
