This bunk was relatively easy to put together but it is a 2 person job and took us about an hour to complete (hubby is a handyman). As stated in other reviews, the wood underneath the top bunk is rough and could potentially be a safety hard, so we took 2 gently used yoga mats and stapled the foam to the exposed supports. we did the same with the remaining pieces and wrapped them around the ladder steps so that little feet can grip better. I used 2 pieces of plywood for bed supports so the mattresses didnt sit too high.
The box did arrive pretty beat up but all the pieces were there and nothing was broken so it was fine.
Overall, very happy with this purchase.
