The frame became squeaky after a few months but I never really cared too much about that. The supporting beam connects to the footboard, and broke off. This makes the frame pretty much unusable, after only a year of average use by a married couple. If that part of the support screwed into the rest of the frame (as it does near the headboard) it wouldnt have broken. The footboard is low grade particle board and likely contributed to the speed at which the frame broke.
