While this daybed looks great, it lacks the strength and the stability to serve its purpose unless you are willing to make modifications. The slats have no central support and easily bend with 15 lbs of weight applied to them. No wonder many people who bought this bed experienced the same issue. We ended up making an independent platform out of sturdy plywood, supported by nine 4x4 wooden feet to go under the slats to support the bed frame. Yes, that means the trundle bed can no longer be stored under the day bed frame, but we wanted a functional day bed that could be used as a couch seating 2/3 people easily during day time. Bottom/line: the price is right for what it is, but dont expect this bed to sustain the weight of adult/s without bending unless you are willing to make modifications.
