I think what makes it flimsy is the fact that theres a lot of give where the seats/ottomans connect to each other, and the screws that come with it are not the hardest. If you dont tighten down the screws as much as possible, the backs will wiggle, and the screws are so soft that the head strips on some of them before you can get them as tight as they should be. They send you plenty of extra parts and a screw driver with EVERY seat set. I have 4 screws drivers I didnt even use, I used a drill.
