The top bunk BROKE under the weight of a 65 pound boy after 7 nights...and he was in the bed when it happened! I mean, the bed’s pieces felt light, cheaply made, however...he was well within weight requirements for this bed. The bed he had before was a different brand, a loft bed I bought on Walmart.com. It lasted years! It survived being shipped in the mail to my house, set up by me, being taken down by hurried family members helping out, a year of storage, a move, being re-set up also by me and lasted until we took it down for what we thought was an upgrade on this new bed.
This new bed arrived a week early...I was thankful. Started set up with two of us. It took a while, but was going ok. Then we got to the bookcase stairs. NO INSTRUCTIONS. No customer service to call...no answer on any line we looked up. I thought, whatever...we’re pretty savvy. Yes, we eventually figured out the stairwell with no instructions. In total...it took us 7 hours to put the whole bed set together. I was frustrated with the sellers about not sending the full set of instructions and for leaving out one of the back pieces to the drawers. The finished product, and my son’s face when he saw his new bed made it all worth the trouble. BUT TO LAST A WEEK?!! That is the unacceptable!
...OK, so to give the product the benefit of doubt, at the risk of my son’s safety, I’m hoping that the product was defective. This one piece of wood should have gone into the trash pile instead of in my box. It needs to be replaced ASAP.
We have taken down the broken, defective top bunk and are now just using the bottom bunk (in my despair I remembered to take pictures so you can see what I am talking about).

I was finally in contact with customer service. To give credit where credit is due, the customer service team was attentive and ensured delivery of the replacement pieces. I’m not sure I would recommend purchase of this item, but I would definitely give praise to the seller for fixing the issue! Additional stars for great follow up service.
