Cute design, but issues in execution. Not cat-friendly.
I do think this is a stylish chair. I really love the design and it looks nice in my modern home. However; there are a few problems:
1. The legs are not dark as pictured. They are more of a caramel-brown. Not a huge problem for me, however.
2. The upholstery doesnt look as smooth and well-done as on the product page. Its a bit ripply (I couldnt capture that too well in my photos. Its probably most visible in the picture taken with my cat.
3. Theres a large lump on the right arm, at the corner. The fabric looks stretched and stressed at this spot and Im concerned about longevity. One of my photos shows the lump (sort-of).
4. There were some nicks/dings on one of the legs. I touched them up and theyre really not noticeable now.
5. Most concerning to me is that the chair is wonky. The middle piece that is right where the lower back sits is not upholstered well on my chair and it looks askew. But of more concern is that one side of the chair is higher than the other. I measured, and its 1/2 off. Not a bunch, but its enough for my OCD eye to fixate on it. I put a measuring tape all the way around the back edge and indeed, one side is 1/2 taller/bigger than the other (again, hard to capture that in the photos).
6. The chair really isnt that comfy. Its too deep. It definitely needs a pillow at the back. A pillow helps to disguise some of the wonkiness too.
7. Update July 2020 - the fabric on this chair is not holding up well with my cat. Its looking pretty gnarly now and its less than a year old. Sigh. Ive learned my lesson to stick to microfiber or velvet fabrics as those fare better with cats.
In spite of these problems, the idea of packaging and sending this chair back is overwhelming. And I do think it looks super cute in my living room. Most people wouldnt notice or fixate on the little problems that my brain does. Im trying to let go of my perfectionism and just enjoy the chair for what it is: a cool, mod-looking accent piece! My cat sure likes it!
