The cushions are very firm at first (though not uncomfortable), and quickly increase in comfort with use. Thats great if your goal is to have a long-lasting piece of furniture that doesnt sag into a misshapen, amorphus blob over time. Highly recommend! (Reviewed after one month of ownership.) ~~~ Note regarding delivery: We had to remove love seat from the box in order to fit it through the door.
