Bought this for my 8/year/old son, who really wanted a loft bed so that he could have more floor space in his small bedroom. He liked that it was metal instead of wood, that the ladder was built into the bedframe instead of extending out into the floor space.
Instructions were not clear, and assembly difficult because you had to try to line up the screws and bolts by feel.which took some time.because they screwed together within the poles, so you had no view of them to get them lined up to join together. When we finally got it assembled, the whole bedframe was wobbly. No hardware was provided to tether the frame to the wall to prevent tipping. (I have since manufactured my own anti/tip system. Note: We had to place the frame in the corner to help prevent wobbling from side to side as well as forward and backwards. My son had hoped to have his loft bed away from the corner of his room).
I wanted to return the loft bed, but my son really wanted to keep it. After strapping the frame to the wall, and surrounding the bottom half of the frame with heavy dressers, the bedframe is more stable, but this purchase limited setting up the bedroom the way we had planned.
Not Very Sturdy
