Some pieces come in the package clean and some come dirty as pictured. At first I thought it was rust dust but its just red earth. No idea why its dirty. The bed is pretty easy to put together EXCEPT the part that the mattress lays on. That shit took like five tries to put together and you definitely need two people and patience. Its easiest if you prop it up on its side and have the rods standing vertical so you can sort of cap it with the other side piece. Youll understand when you assemble this bed.
I read some other reviews that the screws were hard to get to line up and its true but I found if you had patience and didnt try to force it, the thread finds its place and the screw is able to screw in. This bed was a test of patience. Make your sure you have snacks and water on hand.
Took about three hours to assemble everything.
Ive slept in it for two nights now and its does move and wobble as you get in and out and when you shift around in bed. I will be anchoring mine to the wall for greater stability as it l moves more than my previous Ikea loft bed (which I never had to anchor in the six years I owned it, even after two disassemblings and reassemblings). This one I doubt will last as long as the Ikea beds. But I do like the placement of the ladder better and they come with flat ladder rungs and rubber to cover the rungs with so your feet dont hurt.
I havent seen any sagging or bending of the mattress supports. I am just at the top of weight range for the bed so I was worried after reading reviews.
All in all, its a nice bed and for the price its worth it. I appreciate the aesthetic of it which is why i opted for this bed over an ikea loft bed. The ikea beds currently available are very ugly and the ladders push out into the room while this beds ladder is straight vertical and thus takes up no extra space. Perfect for a small bedroom or studio apartment.
Good but not Ikea quality
