Very functional. Easy enough to assemble, I did it alone but it took me about 2 hours. Under the loft was slightly smaller than I expected, my 3.5 year old cannot fully stand up but she seems to like it. I chose this over a wooden bed because of the weight limit, this one is 200lbs and most wood are 170. This was for the asses support and peace of mind, just in case I would need to lay down with her. It is surprisingly beautiful for it being a framed bed. Also, rainbow lights are rainbow fairy string curtain lights with remote (used little command strips for Christmas lights), under lights are LED strip lights, 16.4ft with remote (has double sided tape on it already to make it easier), bedding is Basics Kids Unicorns Rainbows.
