Our children are 4 and 5, and this is a great starter bunk bed. It wasnt too hard to put together. It is a bit of an inconvenience to take off the fitted sheet from the bottom bunk as you have to pull the bed away from the wall, but otherwise, for the price its a decent value. It will last for a good 4/6 years depending how you care for it. its very nice and I love the color. Worth it
