The smell was really weird for the first week, from packaging, so be aware of that. As long as youre sitting on the middle of the cushion, it is very comfortable. Lying down, just make sure your hip or rib isnt directly on the part where the 2 sections connect. We sleep on it all the time, and our 2 hyper dogs love it. They have tried to scratch it up, but so far, its holding up pretty well. Smaller than I expected.
