As I inventoried the parts before starting the assembly, it was evident that all parts were high quality material, (ie Bolts, nuts, washers) and each set of parts had an extra bag of extra parts in case you lost any during the assembly. This day bed and trundle were a joy to assemble because all parts fit perfectly. The instructions had hints regarding shifting or slightly moving parts if they didnt go together well but it was never necessary. An example of the superb engineering was the slats (2nd and 3rd picture) The slots for the slant ends were designed so the slats easily inserted and then dropped down to a section that kept them from sliding. Rubber plugs were designed to go into the larger slot opening so the slots could not bounce up and then out. The spacers shown in the 3rd picture are an example of going above and beyond to provide a quality product. These slats cannot spread apart allowing part of the mattress to drop down through the slats. Packaging: There were two pipes that were bolted into a section om each side of the daybed back wall to protect a gap where the sides of the daybed would fit during assembly. Not a piece of styrofoam but a piece of steel pipe that inserted into the back wall frame where the side would insert when assembled.
