Still strong after 5 years in the direct South Florida Sun

I have had this mounted to the wheel well of my well maintained 1978 CJ5 for 5/6 years. My fuel guage is.. less than perfectly accurate at times so I rotate the fuel frequently but this black can sits in 90-100 degree temps of SW Florida direct sunlight, frequent storms and rough mud covered rides (while driving and parked, I garage my Jeep at home) but without issue (though you need to cover the top with a rag and open slowly as the fuel boils out at pressure release). The key is to keep the can around 90% full as often as possible. A low volume or empty can is much more dangerous as the area for vapor expansion is increased. At 90% you limit the force of pressure from vapor and on the can itself. I was concerned about finding the proper container and this is definitely it. Well worth the cost. It has saved me time and time again and even with frequent wear from the housing bracket the finish has held, no rust, no contamination (I always use a cone filter when pouring just for peace of mind and its never been dirty). I would have every confidence of taking this on extended trips through even the most extreme environments, fully exposed to the elements.
