Built strong. We really are enjoying the bed. It looks wonderful and went together well. My husband is an engineer so he did some extra reinforcement to make the drawers nice and sturdy by using glue and some extra brackets. It was a reasonable price. We got 2 bedside drawers to match as well as a chest of drawers. We are not in the least disappointed. We used a mattress only. No box spring required. It arrived quickly with no damage as well!
