Good Quality for Price, Assembly Instructions sub-par.
Really, an excellent quality for the price, as others have said. The finish on the wood pieces is slightly textured, so more like sanded down wood than a completely flat plastic sheet. Just to be clear, the top and shelves are wood, (well, particle board but well finished); the supports are metal. Comes with cute but serviceable screwdriver and multitool.
Also of note, the top shelves and desktop are supported underneath by the metal frames, but the bottom shelves under the desktop are supported by screws, they do not sit on top of the metal frame.
Assembly Instructions are challenging. 2 1/2 hours for me to assemble, and Ive done more than a few of these kinds of things. I did get it together the first time though, and it seems very sturdy all assembled. From the instructions: Dont tighten screws completely at first . . . Tighten screws at last when all parts are put together.--generally useful advice, but not specifically helpful. Everything else is just pictures, BUT hole alignments are not part of the pictures on parts that otherwise seem reversible; this is the one feature of the instructions that is super unhelpful and makes it super confusing.
That being said, the holes are well drilled and aligned, the hardware is plentiful and overstocked, and tools are included (screwdriver is even magnetic). The desktop is even shipped with corner protectors. This kit is well prepared for assembly, its just the printed instructions that are a bit lacking.
Assembly wise I will offer two bits of advice on the instructions for those of you who do not mind spoilers:
1. When assembling the uprights 8,9,10, and11, if you leave 9 and 10 until after you start assembling the 13s it all goes together easier that way. 2. The whole top support system doesnt align correctly until you install shelf 3. This is the last step, so completely tightening down the upper supports to the desktop before you finish the assembly of the upper shelves is specifically unhelpful for that reason. Good Luck!
