Its a futon thats under $200.00. Well worth it for a dorm room or first apartment. The sidearms are three inches high, too short to lean on, and are attached with Velcro. The scratchy side is on the seat so when you try to lay down you need something covering the futon or you risk being scratched. There is a beam running down the middle where it bends so the only benefit of flattening it is to have elbow room. The middle console cup holders are well made but you have to fold into a pretzel to reach your drink. I am 55. Its a short futon. When sitting down, the back of my knee is about two inches above the seat. No regrets in making this purchase. I received the futon on 4 April. Its 17 May and with six weeks of daily use, I can feel every support spring and strap the seat possesses. Still worth the $200.
