A Decent Table at a Good Price

Your basic do/it/yourself table, in this case for our foyer so wed have a place to put keys and a small table lamp. This goes together similar to any Ikea/type piece of . The various screws, pins, and similar components are all bubble wrapped individually by part type and properly labeled; the right number of components was provided. The directions are pictorial and in English and are pretty straightforward. While there are several portions that would be easier with two sets of hands, I was able to put this together at somewhat leisurely pace over the course of an hour. Several dozen wood pins (dowels) require white glue for strength; the glue is provided in a small squeeze tube and there was plenty for the project. Several of the pieces are close in size or length, so be sure to pay attention to that. Toughest part to assemble was the table top surface as there were 16 different pins and screws to line up in order to provide good rigidity for the table; a non/marking rubber hammer was invaluable here to get it all into place. The table parts were packed well with no damage to the wood surfaces. The wood is a composite/type board with laminated wood surfaces. The wood appears to be of good quality. Once assembled, none of the unfinished surfaces shows, and the assembly was solid. Each piece was labeled in paint on the edges and easy to distinguish. Once assembled, the table legs were even with no adjustments required. Small plastic feet are included to prevent scratching the floor. The drawer has no side rails and simply slides out until it hits a stop. Overall a good price for a decent piece of that looks pretty good. Coincidentally, we spotted a near identical table constructed of similar wood at a local store while looking for something else; it was 3 times the cost of this product and we saw no real difference between the two.
