FYI The bottom does not pop up to make a larger mattress, that said this is an awesome affordable sturdy frame. It wasnt hard to put together (though I did have help Ive put lots of furniture together.) Great space saver that makes a comfy couch (as long as you get plenty of pillows for the back sides) convenient second or primary bed underneath.
I bought 2 twin memory foam mattresses and its been great for my city apartment. Simple and does the job.
