There are pros and cons to this bed from my perspective but overall, I am satisfied. First, it is a gorgeous bed. The headboard kind of reminds of a Japanese sword (Katana) case. YOU WILL NEED A BOX SPRING. A tip to know before you buy is the height from the ground. The beds that dont have a much higher clearance in the space that a box spring would normally fill. This one is low but with still enough space to store stuff underneath. It is sturdy enough. One thing I didnt like is how the headboard does bend slightly backwards if sitting upright and leaning against it but began to trust that it didnt bend too far back, after awhile.
Unlike traditional metal bedframes, it doesnt connect the same way. You just hook the railing into it and the footboard. Then lay the middle support slats into their respective slots. It is a surprising sturdy design despite the so easy a child could do it construction. I have to give props on the engineering of the railing. It bends in half (on a hinge) for shipping yet is completely sturdy once extended.
Overall, I am happy with the purchase. I waited a good 2 months to review as I wanted to make sure it wouldnt collapse or something after awhile. I just moved and had to take it apart then put it back to together. Both were done within a couple minutes... 2 minutes to be exact. No struggling at all.
I didnt pay full price. I am not sure if there was a promotion at the time (only saw it at checkout) or the reduction was due to the COVID-19 restrictions at the time (they ship from Indiana and shipped quickly, I might add) but it is worth the cost due to the fact that I searched for 6 months to find a metal bed that was under $500 and still looked good with minimal to no design defects.
Beautiful bed, unique design
