Some of the reviews had me on the fence, but this is a good bed. Its actually probably the highest quality furniture Ive ever bought in the price range. Its obviously not a high-end bed, but its excellent for the price. I dont think it would survive being moved or disassembled and reassembled too many times, but its pretty solid.
Some of the people complaining probably didnt use care when assembling it, which was very easy. You just have to use a minimal amount of assembly skill, such as not tightening bolts until everything is together to make sure everything fits and lines up and then going around and tightening everything really well. Mine doesnt move or squeak at all and everything lines up perfect.
The only negatives are there should be more slats and they should be closer together. They are spaced wider than my mattress manufacturer recommends and you can see it sags through a bit. If you are heavier, you may need more slats or a bunkie board. The bed is also very low if youre not using a box spring. It couldnt cost much to add a few inches to the legs. A lip around the edge to hold the mattress in place would be nice too, but my mattress doesnt move anyways.
