Well made, but I hope it quiets down after the mattress is in place.
Got this delivered at work today and took it home. Set up was easy and it felt very sturdy once all the bolts were in. My new 10 inch foam mattress should arrive soon, and then I can give a better review of how well it works. Not really getting 14 inches of clearance under the bed, which is where I plan to store some thin items that are cluttering my closet.
I tried sleeping on the frame after covering it with some self inflating mattress pads and a couple of blankets. Not the worst night sleep, but I do hope the velcro noise stops once I put the mattress on. Hoping it will distribute my weight so the wood slats dont sag and cause that ripping noise you get when separating velcro. In case you didnt know, there are velcro strips down the long rails that attach to the wooden slats. There are two sets of 5 slats that are bound together with velcro material that mate up with the strips on the rails. They are meant to keep the slats in place, which is a good idea. There are also two slats with two sided tape that might also keep the slats from moving. Ill have to reread the instructions on where they should be installed. Right now they are at the head and the foot of the bed, but perhaps they should be near the center where more of the weight of my body is concentrated.
It was pretty funny when the cat jumped up to sleep with me. When I turned over and the slats depressed, the noise from the velcro ripping apart startled her. She thought something was creeping up on us.
