I spent days debating between a few pieces of similar price/purpose and I went with this one because I liked the look of it. It was probably top 5 most frustrating pieces of furniture Ive ever assembled. Way more annoying than furniture.
The directions are only pictures. Thats not so bad but there were moments where it was a little confusing. There was a point where I thought I didnt have the screws for the door knobs because they were labeled f and the f sticker was on a different bag of screws but they were in the bag with the knobs, which makes sense so Im not sure why the f sticker was somewhere else entirely.
The main issue is there were points where the pre-made holes did not line up with the thing you were supposed to be inserting so it took some work to get it to line up. I had to completely make new holes for one of the hinges on the door.
It does not feel sturdy. Everything is in place and screwed in as tight as possible and it still wiggles. Thats not great because my goal is to put some china in it and I dont want to worry its going to collapse.
When I screwed in the little metal pieces on the doors so they would latch the melamine split at the top. I didnt even screw them in all the way. It didnt ruin it, you cant see it when its closed, but pretty annoying considering it wasnt that cheap of a product.
The protective plastic covering the plexiglass doors was stuck inside the door so it was impossible to get out cleanly. It didnt even seem necessary.
It had a very bad chemical smell when you opened the box. The piece itself doesnt smell so much now but just beware that its strong at first.
It said 2 person job but I did it by myself for the most part but I did need help trying to get some of the screws in place where they werent lining up correctly with the connecting parts. Great choice!
Well it is cheap and flimsy and smells awful. Brown looks like black and handle pulls are cheap. But it costs 80.00 so you make concessions. I had a specific width area and did not want to spend 300.00.
So smell has dissipated after about a week. Still slight but ok. Tends to loosen when moved but easily tightened. Assembled easily. I have done many items and this was the easiest.
I replaced the handles and that looks so much nicer. I love being able to put things behind doors vs open shelves I had and dusting all the time.
The color was probably the most disappointing aspect. Oh and there was an edge where the paint was off. I touched up with a furniture marker. Great investment!
Having just moved to an apt with minimal storage I was heartbroken not to have room for some of my cup collection that had sentimental value. I could not bear to dispose of them. I ran across this cabinet on and after reading the reviews decided to purchase it. I could not be happier with it! It holds quite a bit and now I can admire it and my cups and special dishes every day. It is quite sturdy and my son-in-law said it wasnt hard to assemble. As someone else mentioned, there is a razor thin open space between the doors but it isnt enough to matter at least for my use. Barely visible. Its an attractive addition to my kitchen! Love it! Perfect for what we needed
Assembly took longer than expected. The back panels that are held in place by slots was difficult to keep in place as the slots in the wood were off a bit. But after loosening things up I got it into the slot and then tightened it all up. Pretty and inexpensive
