The bed looks just as pictured. Easy to assemble. It is perfect for a smaller room. It looks nice if you like the unfinished metal look. I dont think you can stain poplar very easily, but I do believe you can paint it.
Seriously, for the money the quality of this bed is 10/10. Purchased for my disabled daughter who needed a bed that was lower to the floor and clearance underneath so she doesnt hurt her legs getting into it. We put this together in no time and folks, this bed is SOLID and STURDY. The blond metal is very pretty and the design is Nordic. The only thing I would change would be having it come already with a protective seal. BUYER BEWARE - you will need to stain or paint this beauty to protect it from any mishaps such as greasy/dirty hands or spilled red koolaid. I placed a clear stain to keep it as close to the natural color. I would recommend this bed to friends and family and would purchase again. Great bed for the price!
I bought this bed for my daughter as she had outgrown her toddler bed. When I say this bed is sturdy, it is STURDY. This frame does not creak or bend under a lot of weight. I did have the sand the edges a bit but other than that, beautiful metal. Thought about staining it but I decided against it since the metal is just so pretty. I only wish that all the slats were designed to be screwed in. I still did but if they came like that, might be easier. Definitely buying this bed frame for my youngest son once he outgrows his toddler bed.

Assembling it was pretty straightforward but I did need another person midway through to help. Its sturdy, doesnt squeak looks good (not cheap). Shipping was super fast too.
I wasnt sure what to expect for the price, but what I received was well packaged, quickly delivered, and so far very solid. The metal is untreated so youll need to stain/seal it if you want to. Its also made from lighter metal so sealing it is probably a good idea. But overall Im impressed.
Hopefully it will stand the test of time.

Make sure you re-tighten the bolts after a day or two, like the instructions say.

Went together easy. Very well made with all pieces fitting well. Great for platform bed mattresses.
