Just in case any buyers arent aware, this purchase does include the chair! I made the mistake of purchasing a chair separately so just wanted to be helpful there.
My daughter and I love the desk. The two left hand drawerswhich is what I thought they were are actually cabinets. The pull out up top is a drawer and not a keyboard platform.
I would say though that the box indicates the desk should be for ages 58 years old however, my daughter turns 6 this month (05/2015) and I feel that she will get a good year out of it before its outgrown. Shes not above average in height for this age group at 311so I expect other parents might feel similarly. I would say a better range might be 47 yrs.
I think its of good solid wood material. We have a large Kid Kraft doll house too and we would buy from this company again.

The set came before the estimated delivery date and Im thankful that my granddaughter received them before her school started. The set is very nice and just the right size for a 1st grader.

I cant review till after Christmas and after assembled, but I was very happy at how fast it was expedited.
