Now, when I say solid Im saying solid for a 1 legged chair. Im a bigger fella and its very comfortable to sit in and Ive had no issue with the chair falling down or sliding like other reviews have stated. My chairs sit on hardwood floors and I imagine if youre sitting them on carpeting they could get a little wobbly. So far I love these chairs, comfy and modern looking
