I woke up to a horrible crashing sound in the middle of the night and, upon further investigation, I found that the metal support beam down the center of the bed broke off part of the footboard.
Just 3 months after the center beam broke off, one of the slats near the footboard cracked in half.
Delivery was much faster than expected date and didnt have any damage on the box or the inside. Assembly was simple and easy for the most of part as long as you pay attention to the instruction that has only pictures but no words. The hardest part was to build a head board! This part definitely requires 2 peole! The slats dont stay still in the holes so they kept falling so one person needed to hold the ones already inserted while other one was trying to insert next one. The bed is beautifully painted and made sturdy. I slept with my 4 year old son over night and had no squeaky noise or felt uncomfortable at all. We put 8 inch mattress and its fitted perfectly and looks great! There is still enough space to put some storage boxes under the bed so that is nice.
Support beam that runs from headboard to footboard does not securely attach at footboard. Small screws through particleboard are all that holds it up. It broke with a few weeks.
Bed looks nice, seems sturdy enough. I was worried about the slats being too far apart, but the metal bar stabilizes everything well. Had some cracked wood in the headboards and footboards, but fortunately not where it shows or creates a usability problem. Has a strong paint smell so you might give it a few days to air before anyone sleeps in a room with it. Could have used more hole caps for the many exposed screw holes. There were about half a dozen, I think, but you need about 2 dozen for all the exposed holes.
Heres my biggest complaint, and I know its sounds trivial but turning out to not be trivial. Theres a large 3x12 ugly warning sticker on the outward-facing end of the top bunk. I peeled it off because its right where we walk into this room. The adhesive is nasty sticky and WILL NOT COME OFF. Ive tried goo gone, oil, 91% alcohol. Not sure what else to try that wont damage the finish. Its nasty enough had I known, I might not have ordered the bed even though it works perfectly for our needs. That big sticky spot is surely going to collect dirt and drive me nuts, and I cant believe I cant get it off because label adhesive is a pet peeve so I can usually figure out how the heck to get it off. At this price point, cant yall provide better quality adhesive???

Not well made

Sticky label adhesive ruins it!

It took me two days to assemble
It needs a screwdriver to assemble, but its tool box doesnt have one.
