We live in a small, somewhat narrow house which means we don't have room for a traditional kitchen island, but I also need the extra counter space because I bake and cook a lot, so I often want extra prep space. First, I will say that this is heavy, so when it's delivered, make sure you have two people there to bring it inside. Someone else in the reviews suggested two bags - one for trash and one for recycling materials. We did that and it helped a lot with cleanup. If you have experience assembling home furniture like book shelves and desks, this will be a breeze for you. It took me about two hours by myself (after my husband helped me bring it inside), and that was between also answering emails and doing a little bit of remote work. The only thing I found difficult was to turn the little metal tab/switches to the lock position; but I used a rubber mallet to tap these down and lock them, and that wound up working great. I love the fold-out leaf because I can use the cart as-is, folded down against our far kitchen wall, or easily roll it out and lift the leaf for extra space.
This was a purchase that I wasn't too sure about. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to put together. The drawers aren't perfectly straight---it's definitely a design flaw but for the price you can't beat this. Also you'd have to scrutinize it to really tell. I love and it's exactly what I needed for my office/ consultation room

Pretty easy to assemble just do the drawers 1st and the handles on the drawers.

When the 130 pound package arrived I was a little concerned if I may have bitten off more than I could chew.
As I opened the package and started laying out the individually lettered pieces, it seemed like this was well organized. It was when I found the hardware bag that had all of the screws, bolts and tools, I figured I would be okay. Each different screw and bolt was labeled exactly like it was labeled in the instructions. And there was at least one extra screw, bolt or pin of each type.
It took about 2 1/2 hours to put it together. It feels sturdy and well put together. This has allowed me to move a large number of items from our storeroom to our entertainment room. Hoping to fit at least 2-3 slow cookers into the bottom shelf of it as well.
Very nice. Came in one box. Heavy so had to open it on porch. It was very easy to put together. I had no help and it still went smoothly. Looks nice in my kitchen.
I wanted to use this as a cabinet not an island so left off the bottom wheels and towel holder/spice rack. Took about 2.5 hours, wasnt difficult just a lot of steps. I had help putting sides together and top on otherwise did alone. Two people working together probably would have taken 1.5 hrs. Some people said the doors and drawers didnt line up nicely but mine did. One suggestion, wait to tighten the door magnets until the end so you can line up doors perfectly. Drawers were the hardest part, read the directions and make sure you get the right pieces in place. All the pre-drilled holes lined up so thats nice. No dents on the top wood. The only flaw is a small ding on one of the drawer fronts maybe a 1/4 long Ill just cover w/ some paint and it will look fine. Id say good for the price, looks nice and Id recommend.
I really like this island, it's very attractive and also practical. On the other hand it is not for the faint of heart It comes in a whole lot of pieces, I opened the box ,looked inside,closed the box and called my carpenter son.
This piece added so much needed storage space to my galley kitchen. Its pretty sturdy and a great addition to my area. I havent used the top yet which folds up but I will while baking! Raises and lowers easily.
I realized after assembly the side storage pieces for spices and paper towels did not fit my space. To remove them Id have to fully disassemble the unit. So consider if you want them on or off carefully! All in all- excellent unit! Easy to assemble just takes a bit of time. Easier with two helping vs just me.
Its beautiful put together and great for my small space. It matches my white and natural kitchen table very well. My only complaint is that the top was scratched when it arrived.

The doors do not align correctly but it functions just fine.
