I would like to buy this loft bed for my son. Can anyone who already owns this bed tell me the distance from floor to head base?
I would appreciate it.
Bed is actually much nicer than I expected in the quality of the finish and sturdiness. It was very easy to put together but is definitely a 2-person job as it is bulky. Very happy!!!!！ with this product, and the price couldnt be beat.
If youre reading this review, youre probably in the same boat as us. We wanted a loft bed for our kids room but didnt wanted to shell out $1,000+ for a bed and shipping from . Nowhere locally seemed to sell loft beds and almost all of the ones we could find online were aluminum (at least with a cheap wooden bed, extra screws can be added).
So we bought this bed online through another retailer (the one that starts with a W that everyone hates) for about $100 less than on .
The bed was pretty easy to put together and very sturdy with no wood creaks or weird noises. It looks very nice in person and not like the usual el cheapo-put-it-together-yourself kind of furniture. That being said, we got the faux walnut and the stain does look pretty bad, which didnt matter for us since we primed and painted it anyways, which also had the added benefit of covering up the slight shipping damage. The provided allen wrench was also terrible and broke almost immediately and is really too small to use, regardless of its fragility. As others have mentioned, it does give off a cheap bookshelf smell, like lacquer sawdust, for the first couple of days.
Overall, I think its a very good bed, especially if you can find it in the $250 ballpark. And as an FYI, when shopping around take into account that its made by Asia and is resold by several other names (zzz being the most common). Also, the Signature Sleep Essential 6-Inch mattress works very well (its shipped rolled up in a box) and can be found for about $80 if you keep an eye out.
I got this bed as an early Christmas present. Being too old for my princess palace bed, after I looked around some, I decided on this loft bed.
The shipping was faster than expected, and the box was a little torn, but that was expected. Once we opened the box, we saw the wood was just as expected, the same color brown as in the picture, maybe a little nicer looking. The instructions seemed to be pretty clear, and we were able to construct it (with 3 people) in about 2 to 3 hours. the ladder was sturdy, and when I got up it didnt wobble at all, or I couldnt feel it wobbling AT ALL, which was surprising, since there was about 80 pounds total on the bed, I THINK... anyways, there was the mattress, me, blankets, and a pile of stuffed animals. I could sit up in it, and the area below the bed provided lots of room, and hanging sheets around the bottom part provided a hideout to do homework, journal, and just self-relax time. There was no paint smell and it smelled like nice pure wood, exactly what it was.
Solid, sturdy, looks great, and a very reasonable price. When one of the pieces of wood was dented by UPS in shipping, Modern Spaces shipped out a replacement piece free of charge even though they were not at fault. Great customer service and a great bed!
Bed received in damaged condition. Someone in the factory / warehouse must have used those metal bands for a pallet of these beds. Because the box had three indentations on the side. The band cut into the front support post for the bed. The Allen wrench tool supplied stripped out after the left side of the bed was built. Boards will have cracks, our bed had 5 or 6 visible cracks.
I need to find the claims paper work so I can get a new board D I believe.
I bought this same bed from for nearly half the price. Its really a great bed - my 6 year old is in loveeeee with her new loft bed. Her dad and I were able to put it together in about 2 hours - its very sturdy! It does have an odor for awhile, but it fades and just kind of smells like new furniture. We are very happy!!!!！ with this bed! Definitely a good purchase!
