It took me about 4-5 hours to assemble this item. It wasnt that hard but one shelf piece was unlabeled and another mislabeled. The instructions arent super clear but neither are they terrible. It just takes a little examination. My main complaint is that the styrofoam packaging was crumbly and statically charged. It stuck to everything. It stuck to the shelf pieces. It stuck to the box. It stuck to me. When I tried to sweep it up, it stuck to the floor and the broom. I get that some sort of foam is needed to protect the shelving and especially the glass, but this type of packaging was unacceptably messy. I am used to regular styrofoam and this isnt it! Also, speaking to the cheapness of manufacture (I mean, what do you expect for the price), at least ten of the nails were clubbed at the end and thus unusable, and the back cardboard that forms the back of the unit is taped together at the seams. With clear packing tape.
Im actually pretty happy with how the unit turned out but a few things really stuck out that I think people considering the item should know. Also, even with understanding the instructions, I had to redo a few shelves after Id placed them in the wrong way. The pictures could definitely be clearer about which side is facing where.
Its a great product for the $money$ but provides cheap hardware. Cheap plastic handles that if you over tighten them it cracks. You may have to upgrade the handles and use some L brackets for the shelf microwave sits on.
