Better than what I was expecting for the price. It looks exactly as pictured, and so far the fabric has held up to two tabby cats (a pleasant surprise). I am 59 and do need a pillow to prop up my head when it is fully reclined, though.
We were looking for the prefect mid-century chair and this was it. It was easy to put together, just had to screw on the legs and snap on the back..only took a few minutes. The chair is sturdy AND comfy. The chair is a nice recliner and doesnt take up a lot of room...the orange is slightly muted..the texture of the fabric is just as I remember from my Grammas couch in the 60s. LOVE IT! Fits right into our Mid-Century Motif! Cant believe we got this chair for the price!~
I love these chairs. They were cost effective and arrived promptly (earlier than they said they would get here). I bought a set as accent chairs in my living room. The yellow is a great pop of color. They have a slim profile and sleek design, not your dads bulky recliner. They are reasonably comfy, not super squishy, but looking at the chair, I did not anticipate they would be.
This chair exceeded my expectations for a piece of furniture at this price. The photo is accurate. It is easy to assemble. The color is perfect and the material good. The design is great. The seat is firm and comfortable. It is a size that will work well in a condo or apartment, it is not too large. I am 57 so my feet hang a bit off the edge when extended, but not uncomfortably. I will use a neck roll pillow if I want to rest my head.
First of all, its a fine chair. I spent literally hours researching every Mid Century Modern chair online. I chose this one for a retro, Mid Century Mod Man Cave. I intend to use it primarily to watch TV. I needed one that doesnt take up much room.
So, here are some observations I was looking for when shopping, all in one place......
Chair is exactly as described. Extremely well packed and arrived super fast in 2 days by Fedex. Box was in perfect condition.
I put the box on its side and carefully cut open the top and bottom, and the chair parts slid out easily. It is in only 2 pieces, seat and back, so very easy to assemble by yourself. Just attach 4 legs and drop the back into the seat.
I chose a recliner to lay back at times to watch TV. It reclines easily, with just a push back, and easily returns to upright. No issue with it not locking into place when reclined, as many other chairs seem have comments on. It simply stays where you put it.
NOTE: I AM 5 ft. 11 AND MY HEAD IS UNSUPPORTED WHEN RECLINED. Unfortunately this is a feature I was hoping for, but I suppose it is a compromise for the smaller size. With just a couple of inches short, I will have to purchase a small pillow to support my head while reclined. No deal breaker. Ive done this before. I would have liked to know this beforehand, though. Otherwise at 5, 11 and 200 lbs, the chair is plenty big enough for me. The chair is comfortable with just enough firmness, but with plenty of cushion. The retractable footrest is fine and hits my legs in a comfortable position.
If you are considering this chair, other than the height of the back, I find no cons, and would highly recommend this one. Hopefully, all my time and research will pay off in saving you some time. Good Luck with your purchase.
How can I give four stars to a chair we had a problem with? Easy, because GDF Studio corrected the problem rapidly and to my complete satisfaction! The style of this chair is modern, however it works well in an eclectic or transitional setting, too. The fabric is high quality and the colors available make it easy to provide a match for your taste and decor. It provides a slim profile yet remains comfortable with nice padding on the seat, the back, and the arms. Its a recliner that doesnt look like your Granddads big old clunker, hahaha! All in all, I think you will like it!
Great comfy chair...Im not sure how long it will hold up as its only $199.00 and after having it for a month and sitting in it every night, there is already a depression in the seat. But if I need to get a new one in a year, so be it...
The recliner arrived in a big box and required some minor assembly. The hardest part was getting it out of the box! The fabric is durable and as indicated in the photo. Getting the chair to recline requires a bit of an workout for me because you have to lean back to get the footrest to open. I basically have to slam myself back several times with all my might to get it to open, but maybe itll ease up over time. Overall, its a comfy chair and a good value.
