Cushion is rock hard and wood had several damaged spots

I bought two chairs and should be returning both however I don't really care to unassemble, box and ship it. This chair is so uncomfortable and when seated the chair arms are only thigh-high. I might pay $30 for this chair if I saw it in a store. Skip this consideration.

Instructions are terrible, seat is firm... but it looks great! Cant beat it for the money.

It pretty much looks identical to the photo (I got grey). As others have said the instructions were pretty terrible, but I figured it out in less than an hour. (Right at the beginning you have to lift the Velcro flap on the bottom of the seat cushion — its not in instructions). For the money its an excellent chair. It has the retro mid-century look I wanted. Its very firm to sit on... which is fine for me but others might like a softer seat. You probably wont want to curl up in it, but its not uncomfortable.

Look amazing, extremely hard and uncomfortable

They look great, and get a lot of compliments from people, until they sit on them. The cushions are hard as a rock and extremely unpleasant. The only way I found them tolerable to sit on was to add accent pillows for the back cushion. Otherwise you might as well be sitting on the floor and against a solid wall. 5/5 looks, 2/5 comfort.

    half-hour minimum

once you figure out how to put it together, it takes about a half-hour it's then a pretty good chair

As cheap as IKEA, but much much nicer.

For the price, I was surprised by the quality (in a good way). Easy to assemble once I made sense of the directions. The chair looks nice, the wood doesnt feel cheap and happy with the purchase.

    Cute but hard...

I ordered two of these chairs, both came in-in great shape and were delightfully easy to put together. However they are STIFF like maybe a cardboard box covered in fabric would be more comfortable. They would make great staging chairs but I wouldnt recommend if youre looking for something cozy to sit on.

    Excellent chair

Love this chair! I bought 2 and they look great in my entry mudroom area. Assembly was easy and they look just as pictured. Very happy with both of the chairs!

    Make sure you order from

I feel bad for those who ordered from a 3rd party seller and got a Chinese knock-off. If you want the original, order it from . Box should say Baxton and have the right number on it, also the originals should say made in Malaysia. Quality better than expected. Really nice wood, quality bolts and allen wrench. Seat is stiff, but it will loosen up in time. Really solid quality chair. Normal chair size and height, compared to the tiny knock-offs. Directions are useless, however if you have half a brain, wont take more than 10 minutes to assemble. Seems like a heck of a deal for $127 plus tax. Will most likely be getting another one.

    rather uncomfortable

If the chair were half as comfortable as it appears to be, this would have been a good purchase. As it is, there is hardly any cushion. You won't get a back ache, but it's not really cozy.

    Put it together myself!

Read the instructions carefully and you can do this. The only thing they forgot to put in the directions is that the black cover on the bottom is attached by velcro and can be removed easily to put the chair together. Then replaced. Luckily for me another reviewer on . showed it and explained it.
