I purchased this for our spare bedroom- we wanted something nicer since we frequently have out of town guests. It came within a few days, was packaged nicely and the instructions were good. From start to finish I assembled it on my own in about an hour. Very sturdy, not wobbly in any areas and looks great in the room
This Victorian vintage bed was purchased for my elderly parents to accommodate a Nectar mattress. The assembly took my husband and me a little over an hour. The tools needed for assembly were included with the bed: a small wrench and a hex wrench. Each slat has a plastic insert on the ends with two little plastic knobs that press fit into the metal frame, so the slats stay put. about 1/3 of the slats were missing one of the two plastic knobs. We could have called the company for replacements, but we needed to set the bed up that day, so we made due. They still worked, so far so good, but it's only been a few weeks since they started sleeping on it.
I would suggest the company send a few extra plastic inserts to make up for those that are damaged, whether it happened in packing, shipping and handling or at the factory. Otherwise, the bed does look nice. It holds over 400 lbs with no problem.
After reading the reviews I was nervous about my purchase and when my sisters and I opened it and set it up, some pieces were a little bent. We had to bend it back in order to put it together but again for the price and the other reviews I expected that. I am not a big person and neither are my boyfriend but we have slept soundly on this bed with out even a creak. I feel like this is a sturdy bed and a bang for your buck and looks cute.
My daughter and I put this together. Well, mostly my daughter. Im old. Its extremely sturdy. I think those who say its wobbly just didnt tighten it properly. The 4 main posts have screws that are pretty difficult to get right. She had to spend a lot of time on those. My husband weighs 210 and I 140 and theres no movement at all. My problem is that dumb middle leg. I have stubbed my toe on that thing a dozen times in a week. We put it on 2 inch risers so our storage containers would fit under. We love it. Its a temporary bed for my husband as he battled brain cancer. Oh, and the directions were great and all hardware perfectly labeled with extra parts. Very nice.
We received the bed frame today and was able to put it together in about an hour. I must say I was very impressed with the ease of putting it together but most of all this is the first time the manufacture has included extra pieces. Every size screw had an extra one, and all of the plastic pieces had 2 extras. We will be using it for our grand child but it will also be used as a guest room bed. I will update if we have any problems but as of now totally happy with the purchase.
