This took a long time to assemble, I did it over 2 days. I did most of it myself but needed my husband to help lift the top bunk over the bottom one. The stairway and drawers took the most time. Now that its done we love it. Its very sturdy and solid. I looked at a lot of bunk beds before deciding on this one. For the price, the quality is great, but you pay for it with manual labor. I recommend furniture pads so you can slide the bed into place when its done. Its otherwise very, very heavy. The drawers are huge and offer a lot of storage but are a bit difficult to navigate, even for me. Nonetheless my daughter goes up and down only once a day so not a big deal. Even with the tall version, I cant sit fully upright on the bottom bed but that may be because our bottom mattress is quite thick. However it works well for leaning on pillows and reading books.
Extremely well constructed piece of furniture and probably the best instructions I have ever seen. Very pleased with this purchase. The beds took about three hours to put together and I did it mostly by myself. The stairs took just as long if not longer. Some of the pieces in the stairs were a little scuffed up but it turns out they were all internal pieces. The only down side is all of the connections, including the screw heads, are exposed which seems like something that could be easily fixed but from the picture we knew this prior to purchasing. All in all though great value for a REAL all natural wood piece of furniture.
The wood is solid not particle board. We were planning on getting a similar bed from Pottery Barn Kids for 3x the price. But the PB Kids one was not solid wood. It took several hours to put together and went faster with 2 people. Came together nicely and looks beautiful put together. An electric screwdriver is useful for some parts of the assembly as they are not pre-drilled holes, especially for the drawers.
Great value for money. I bought it for my kids (boy 7 and girl 5) shared bedroom and it looks really nice. It comes very well packed and while it did take some hours to assamble, it wasnt a big deal.
Im happy with my purchase!
I did a lot of research before purchasing this bunk bed and I am very happy with this purchase. The beds are great. I agree with the other reviewers that it took a few hours with 2 people to assemble the bed but it was worth it. It looks great. I love that I can sit on the bottom bed with my son and not hit my head.
This is very high quality. Except for two missing screws (that they promptly sent out) all holes were pre drilled perfectly and the kit went together easily. I was able to build it alone except for lifting the bed and some of the stair assembly. This is great for young kids and the lower top bunk adds peace of mind. The kit includes a ton of supports for each bunk, so bunkie boards/box springs arent needed. Love it!!

It Takes Two (or more)
In order to build this, youd better have a friend! But once it is complete you should be happy with the results. I was, and so are my kids.
Great purchase!
