Hate that it was delayed to be delivered for a few weeks ..
so many pieces and most parts didnt align easily but my husband made it work.. thats why it took 4 hours to put together
Other than that I appreciate the sturdiness and the bed itself
Comfy and fun to sleep on, this loft bed has proven useful as a playplace and storage spot for toys,as well as a nice place to take an afternoon nap without being to far from the action, since it sits out in the living room. A good second bed for guests as well.
Perfect size for my 3 year old he loves it so much. The only down fall is if you're assembling it by yourself be ready for it to take 4 hours with provided tools and parts.
Awesome bed for my son to transition in but man it took me for 10 am to 6:30 at night to but this thing together. Honestly it's the manual that makes it that way. It's clear but not clear if you get what I'm saying. And you're constantly unscrewing bolts to get other pieces in. When you start, keep bolts lose and tighten in the end of all if it is what I can recommend.
This is a very well-built loft bed. It has probably a 2 - 3 foot height underneath the bed (so it would be a fairly easy spot to set up a little fort if you were a kid). The bed has a lot of pieces, but my brother and I put it together in probably three hours? It has a lot of support, and I personally bought it because it says it has a weight limit of 200. I'm 24 and I needed a bit more storage room in my small room, and this was perfect. It's definitely more stable than I thought it would be. The drawer steps are a bit narrow for me, but they're sturdy under my weight and I can climb them easily. I'd say as long as you're limber you shouldn't have a problem climbing up onto it if you're an adult. In all honestly it's probably sturdy enough for two kids to sleep on easily (if they're having a slumber party or something).
All-in-all I'm very happy with the bed, and I'm pretty sure it will last quite a while!
The bed comes in several pieces.. my husband put it together in about 3 hours. My 6yr old loves the steps with the hiding places. It is made a bit cheaply, but once together seems solid enough.
The stairs are a lot more solid than I thought they'd be. A great bed for the price. I attached fire truck curtains that are made for a more expensive loft bed and my kid LOVES it! It's the perfect size for my 3 (almost 4) year old. Be warned though, set aside at least 4 hours to put it together. It's quite the pain but worth it for the price.
UPDATE As of April 7, 2015 nearly a month and a half since I assembled the bed, I have not had one problem with the bed. I had some extra time on my hands today with some rainy weather, so I took out the allen wrench and attempted to tighten all the screws. No need. With the blue thread locker i put on there during assembly, everything is still tight and sturdy. A very active 3 year old boy has not managed to tear this bed up yet and I doubt from the sturdy construction that he will be able to.
I hope this helps your buying decision.
I bought this bed for my son for his new big boy bed. We love it. It is the perfect height for my wife and I to tuck him in without having to climb up the bed like you would have to with a traditional bunk bed, and it isn't too high that if he were to fall or jump (most likely) off the bed, that he could hurt himself. I used a standard twin mattress with no bunky board or anything underneath. The supports are close enough together once you clip everything together to support a regular mattress. I bought one here on for like $95, and it came rolled up in a small box. You can read my review on the mattress there.
As far as the whole buying process, got it out to me and it was supposed to be delivered on the 3rd day, but due to a winter storm and to bad road conditions in my area, I didn't get it for over a week past the scheduled delivery date. But, alas, it did finally come. The box is HEAVY! You will need two people to handle it. I unpacked it and laid all the pieces out on the floor so I could find everything, and from start to finish, I took about 3 hours to assemble it. I could have assembled it a little faster, but I chose to put the blue Locktite thread-locker on all my screws as I assembled it. I highly recommend that, so you won't have to worry about the screws coming loose after a three year old jumps on it for a month. It gives me a little piece of mind to know that they are locked it there, but not permanently so disassembly is possible if you ever need to in order to move, or sell, etc. You can pick the blue-glue up at any home improvement store for about $6.
So, all in all, I think this bed was an excellent purchase. I would highly recommend the bed. It seems to be very sturdy and will last a long time, even with my rough and rowdy three year old son. I love the storage in the steps. The bottom part is a pull-out drawer, and we used that to put his cars and airplanes in, and the top part is a swing-out cabinet that we put a little storage bin with some Lincoln logs in. Perfect for toy storage.
Buy it, you won't be disappointed. I will update this if anything changes and you guys need to know about it. For sure use the thread-lock!
